Located in the midst of the Canal Watershed; The Embera community offers an unique experience surrounded by picturesque landscape as well soaking into their amazing culture. There you'll get to know their day by day activities such as Local Crafts design, their music and dances performance, learn their history background and even more.
its a 6 hour tour which involves:
Jump into a dugout canoe and navigate in a channel of dense vegetation where the river flows to the artifical lake of Gatun.
Welcoming reception from the Indian community Chief and members
Get in a Hut and be entertained with their wonderful history, culture and background explanations
Enjoy having a traditional indian meal lunch
View and shop from the hands of the Manufacturers beautiful handycrafts.
Take a forest trail walk to observe some wildlife animals.
Dance their musical rhythm performed in special events and ceremonies.
FLOW OF THE TOUR
we depart from agreed location on an air conditioned vehicule heading to Gatun river dock using an express way and/or Toll Road called corridor.
The ride is about:
--55 minutes from Panama city,
--1hour and 15 minutes from PTY Tocumen International Airport
--30 minutes from Colon Cruise port Terminal
Once reached at Dock, we will see a representative of the Embera Indian Tribe waiting us in his dugout canoe. we grab our stuff and jump in it and action starts as we get suited with the boatride over the Gatun River and lake until we get at the Embera Village region. once there, is very normal the indians approach us to help with our stuff. Music starts to flow and the Chief will show up to us saying "BIABUA SHABA" which means Hellow my Friend. we will be invited to get in a Hut were explanation will be shared to us while the ladies in the kitchen are preparing our lunch. once explanation is finished there's time enough to take a trail, see handycrafts and dance performances and more. Finished we go back.
